Full Description

The backbone of the Luftwaffe’s fighter force during WWII, the Messerschmitt Bf 109 was one of the most advanced fighters of the era, including such features as all metal monocoque construction, a closed canopy and retractable landing gear. It was powered by a liquid-cooled, inverted-V12 aero engine. Originally conceived as an interceptor, later models were developed to fulfill multiple tasks, serving as a bomber escort, fighter bomber, day/night/all weather fighter, ground attack aircraft and as a reconnaissance aircraft. The Bf 109F was widely considered to be the best basic variant of the 109 produced.

Supplied on highly detailed plan sheets, this 1:6.4 scale, all wood model of the German fighter has a wingspan of 1550 mm (61”) and features a retracting undercarriage and working flaps, with power coming from a .60 cu. in. two stroke engine. A moulded canopy and cowl is also available, along with a laser cut wood pack.
