Panther – Autogyro
Richard Harris’ superb Panther autogyro – a model many will have seen flying at Greenacres and the Winterton autogyro fly-ins. Those who have will appreciate what a striking machine this is and, once airborne, it’s easily within the flying abilities of an intermediate pilot.

Full-Size Auto Gyros – Juan de la Cierva took to the skies in his auto rotational flying machine almost 100 years ago. His designs, along with most others of the period, shared one common denominator, they were all of
a tractor configuration. In some form or another most modern pusher autogyros have adopted the ground-breaking work of Ken Wallis, indeed today’s machines are noted for their safety record and are known to many pilots as the motorbike of the skies.
What’s in a Short Kit? – A short kit usually contains, where available, the plan, the laser/CNC cut wood pack, additional wood pack, canopy, cowl or any other available Glass Fibre or plastic moulded items. Please note Short Kit (Sets) DO NOT include engines, accessories, paints or glues.
What’s in a Laser or CNC Cut Wood Pack? – A CNC or laser cut wood pack contains most, if not all, of the intricately shaped parts shown on the plan, which would be difficult or time-consuming to cut out by hand. It does not contain any sheet or strip wood, which you will need to buy separately. Alternatively, you can purchase an Additional Wood Pack, if available. Our Laser or CNC Cut Wood Packs only contain balsa, ply and lite ply and do not include other materials that may be required to complete the model, such as hardwoods, metals and GRP sheets.

What’s in an Additional Wood Pack?
Our Additional Wood Packs contain MOST of the necessary sheet and strip wood needed to complete a model being built from a Sarik Hobbies plan and using the associated Laser Cut Wood Pack, if available. We stock a wide range of balsa, ply and spruce in popular sheet and strip sizes but even so we cannot guarantee to be able to supply all the wood necessary to complete each model. So some additional purchases may be required from other modeling wood stockists if not available from Sarik Hobbies. Our Additional Wood Packs only contain balsa, ply and spruce wood in the stock sizes as used by our suppliers and do not include other materials that may be required to complete the model such as hardwoods, metals & GRP sheets. Plan and laser-cut wood pack are of very good quality, however it was disappointing to find that there is no information on the plans regarding power requirements and no constructional details for both the rotor head and spindle bearing. Reference is given to a 2013 issue of the RCM&E magazine which presumably included an article on building and flying this machine. Unfortunately back issues for this magazine is no longer available!
Luckily I have found the same article in a ‘Workshop Special’ magazine from 2015.
