This model is reminiscent of some of the experimental aircraftof the 1930's, and despite its attractive, but unconventional appearance, is stable and very easy to fly – you could almost train on it! Clearly designed to be really economic on materials. Dactyl is also as easy to handle on the ground as in the air due to its wide track, tricycle undercart.
Please note that all plans are printed to order and as such we are unable to accept returns.

I first built a Dactyl in the 1980s. I have taught a lot of people to fly on different trainers, and l found this by far the best trainer for my son. I found a loop scavenged Enya 40 perfect power. Because this is an extremely pleasant sports aerobatic model, l have just ordered a new plan, this time for electric power. Again, l will fit a steerable nose leg (with the nose leg servo in the nose), and the battery will fit in the large fuel tank bay. Dennis Bryant got the design of this model just right, and l have also built and flown the 50% free flight version of Dactyl, called Oyni.
