Supermarine Spitfire Mk.XIV & XIX (69″) – FG Carburettor Intake

FG Carburettor Intake for this 1:6.4 scale replica builds into two versions of the iconic Spitfire. It’s constructed from all wood offers moulded accessories and feature working flaps and retracting undercarriage detail on the well-detailed plan sheets. Power comes from a .60 cu. in. 2-stroke or suitable 4-stroke.

This excellent two-sheet R/C model plan design from Brian Taylor offers two versions to build: the Spitfire XIV, which was a short-range medium-high altitude fighter combining the Spitfire Mk VIII airframe with a Rolls-Royce Griffon engine, and also the rare Spitfire PR Mk XIX, the excellent photographic reconnaissance variant. Both versions are constructed from all wood and offer moulded accessories. The model features working flaps and retracting undercarriage details are shown on the well-detailed plan sheets. It builds into a super 1:6.4 scale, 69” wingspan model of this WWII classic icon. Power comes from a .60 cu. in. 2-stroke or suitable 4-stroke but experienced modellers should be able to convert it to electric power (details not supplied). It is not suitable for beginners, either to plan building or model flying.

There were 24 Marks of Spitfire and many more sub-variants. They served in every theatre of operations during WWII and continued in use all over the world for many years afterwards. Available here are the Spitfire XIV, which was a short-range medium-high altitude fighter combining the Spitfire Mk VIII airframe with a Rolls-Royce Griffon engine, and also the rare Spitfire PR Mk XIX, the excellent photographic reconnaissance variant, of which only 225 were built out of a total of 20,341 Spitfires.
