Full Description
This classic sport aerobatic design by Mike Delacole has been updated for electric power and creates the perfect blend of modern hardware and classic sports design.
A bit from the designer: Much has changed in the world since the original Chilli Breeze design (available from Sarik Hobbies: https://www.sarikhobbies.com/product/chilli-breeze-48/) was published way back in 1994. In our aero modelling world, one of the biggest changes has undoubtedly been the demise of the noble glow motor and the emergence of electric power. The original Chilli Breeze was designed for glow motors in the .25 -.36 cu in range (the OS .32SF in particular) and had to able to accept a standard set of radio gear of that era. They flew well and handled the average windy conditions without a problem. When I (Designer Mike Delacole) was first thinking about an electric version he was pleasantly surprised to find that there was still an interest in the Chilli Breeze/Wind designs. The prototype for the new EP version was built using the original overall dimensions and construction methods (from the original free plan) and used medium-density balsa sheet throughout – except for some harder wood and ply for spars etc. A 36”x4”x1/16” a sheet of medium-density balsa weighs around 20gm and all other thicknesses are directly proportional to that figure. The completed wooden structure
weighed in at around 510g/18oz (which was about the same as the 1994 original) so there is really no point in trying to save weight.
Please note that all plans are printed to order and as such we are unable to accept returns.
